Shangwan Coal Preparation Plant (10Mt/a) of Shendong Company of Shenhua Group is a turnkey project of a general contract jointly executed by SEDGMAN CHINALLC of USA and Shenyang Design and Research Institute of Sino-coal International Engineering Group. The total cost of the project was RMB78 million yuan, of which RMB46.2 million yuan was the capital cost for the imported equipment purchased by SEDGMAN CHINALLC and RMB31.8 million yuan for domestic auxiliary equipment, manufacturing of platework and steel structures, construction of the plant buildings and the erection of the imported and domestic equipment. This project, commenced on August 1^st , 2003, was completed and started operation on January 18^th, 2004. The design period was one month and the duration of construction was four and half months. The construction period set a new record of coal preparation plant construction in the Shenhua Group. The plant has been in smooth running since its operation It is proven that the system is technically sound and economically efficient.
