The coal preparation division mainly engages in design and consultation of construction and technical renovation projects of coal preparation pants, blending facilities, storage yards, briquette plants, etc. , as well as the R&D in coal desulfuration and sulfur fixing methods and chemical products for the mining industry

 

Over 170 coal preparation plants have been designed with a total annual production capacity of more than 10 billion tonnes. We are particularly experienced in the design of preparation plants for power-generation coal, and unique means in the analysis of coal quality and selection of the most suitable technical process.

 

In the large scale preparation plant of Heidaigou Surface Coal Mine in Zhunger designed by our institute (12Mt/a), a world-class quick loading station with a capacity of 5000t per hour, a large scale jig, a large scale sieve, a heavy crusher, a large scale bucket elevator were used. The flexible technical process of separate storage, separate screening, and separate or mixed washing is employed for separating high and low quality coals so as to meet the requirements of different customers. In Pingshuo Antaibao Coal Preparation Plant (15Mt/a) designed in cooperation with a US company, the technical process of shallow tank heavy media for lump coal and heavy media cyclone for fine coal is employed, and through controlled coal blending the problem of high sulfur content from the mining and preparation phases in individual coal seams was solved. It has set a precedent to control “sulfur” by combined efforts.

 

The Xinxing Coal Preparation Plant of Qitaihe Coal Industry Group won the Luban Prize – the highest prize in the Ministry of Construction. The Coal Preparation Plant of Hongyang Mine No.3 of Shenyang Coal Industry Group won the Second Prize in the Coal Industry, because of their sound technical processes, compact designs, beautiful layouts and good economical performances..
