Up to now our institute has completed more than a thousand items of designs of underground mine, surface mine, coal preparation plant, civil explosive, factory, power plant, waste water treatment plant, railway and highway both at home and abroad, which are distributed through 25 provinces municipalities and autonomous regions. We have completed nearly a hundred items of scientific research and standard designs and edited and participated in edition of national and ministerial level codes, rules, standards and regulations more than 50 items. A dozen of large-scale engineering projects ware carried out, in cooperation design or general contract, with USA, Germany, Poland, Australia, Russia etc. We have established business relations with more than 20 countries and regions, making a great contribution to the national economy and scientific and technological progress. In the past few years, more than 160 items of engineering design computer application software and scientific and technological research findings won the national and ministerial prizes of excellent design and scientific and technological progress, of which there are 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze Medals of National Design; more than 110 items of ministerial level excellent survey and design; 29 items of Scientific and Technological Progress Prize of ministerial level and above; 6 items of Excellent Standard Design of ministerial and above; 27 items of ministerial Excellent Computer Software; and 13 national patents. The institute was evaluated and determined as ¡°Top Hundred Design Units with Strongest Comprehensive Strength¡± by the state in 1990 and got the accreditation of ISO9001 in 1997. We have a good reputation in the same sector both at home and abroad The following is the brief description of part of the projects: Surface Mine 1. West Surface Mine of Pingzhuang Coal Mining Bureau. It was the fist surface coalmine designed by the institute, construction started in 1958. 2. Yuanbaoshan Surface Coalmine of Pingzhuang Coal Mining Bureau. It has a designed capacity of 5Mt/a, applying semi-continuous and continuous combined mining technology with good operational result. 3. Zhunger Heidaigou Surface Coalmine in Inner Mongolia. It has a designed capacity of 12Mt/a, winning the Silver Medal of the 9th National Excellent Design. We also succeeded in bidding for technical renovation of this project for expanding capacity to 20Mt/a with dragline technology, which is under construction. 4. Pingshuo Anjialing Surface Coalmine in Shanxi province. It has a designed capacity of 15Mt/a, already completed. 5. TIGYIT Surface Coalmine of Myanmar. It is the largest surface coalmine in Myanmar, which is under construction. 6. Yimin Surface Coalmine No.1 in Inner Mongolia. The first-stage designed capacity is 5Mt/a. it won the First Prize of the 11th Excellent Engineering Design in Coal Sector (ministerial level). We also succeeded in bidding for the second-stage expanding project of 11Mt/a, which is under construction. 7. Huolinhe Surface Coalmine No.1. the designed capacity is 10MÍòt/a, it was highly evaluated by the state acceptance group when it was turned over for operation. The state acceptance group thought: ¡°the design was successful and the quality of construction was good. The completion of this mine proved that we are able to design and construct large-scale surface coalmine on our own¡±. Now the design of the 15Mt/a expansion project is carrying out in our institute. 8. Shengli Surface Coalmine No.1 of Shenhua Inner Mongolia Electric Power Shengli Energy Company. It is under construction. The shovel-mobile crusher semi-continuous mining technology + dragline rehandling mining technology is adopted. It is the surface coalmine with most-advanced technology in the world. 9. Buzhaoba Surface Mine of Xiaolongtan Coal Mining Bureau in Yunnan province. It is the first large-scale modern mine operating in BWE - Belt conveyor ¨C spreader continuous mining technology in our country. The designed capacity is 4.8Mt/a. It is in full production now. This mine is in the lead of domestic surface mines in standard of technology and equipment. Underground Mine 1. Linxi Mine of Shuangyashan in Heilongjiang province. It was the first coalmine design independently completed by Chinese people. 2. Taiji Mine of Beipiao in Liaoning province. It was the first vertical shaft mine over 1,000m deep. 3. Xiaonan Mine of Tiefa in Liaoning province. It won the Gold Medal of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design. 4. Santaizi Mine No.1 of Tiefa in Liaoning province. It won the Gold Medal of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design. 5. Daxing Mine of Tiefa in Liaoning province. It won the Bronze Medal of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design. 6. Expansion project of Dalong Mine of Tiefa in Liaoning province. The design won the Coal Ministry¡¯s Second Prize in 1998 and won the Bronze Medal of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design in 1999. 7. Yangquan Mine No.3 in Sganxi province. This mine is one of the largest famous underground mine in China. 8. Nanzai Coalmine of Changzhi in Shanxi province. It won the Second Prize of the 10th Excellent Engineering Design in Coal Sector (ministerial level). 9. Hongyang Mine No.3 of Shenyang Coal Group in Liaoning province. It won the Second Prize of the 11th Excellent Engineering Design in Coal Sector (ministerial level).¡¡¡¡ Coal Preparation Plant 1. Pingshuo Antaibao Coal Preparation Plant designed in cooperation with McNally company of USA. The technical process of shallow tank heavy media for lump coal and heavy media cyclone for fine coal is employed, and its coal blending for preparation solved the problem of high sulfur content in individual coal seam. It has set a precedent to control ¡°sulfur¡± by combined efforts of surface coal mine and coal preparation plant. 2. Xinxing Coal Preparation Plant of Qitaihe in Heilongjiang province. It won the First Prize of Excellent Design in Northeast Coal Company and the Second Prize of Excellent Design in Coal Ministty. 3. Coal Preparation Plant of Heidaigou Surface Coalmine in Zhunger of Inner Mongolia. The advanced preparation equipment is used. The 35m2 Batac jig imported from Germany has the advantages of big processing capacity per unit area, high processing efficiency and high standard of automation. 4. Coal Preparation Plant of Hongyang Mine No.3 of Shenyang Coal Gropup in Liaoning Province. It won the Second Prize of the 11th Excellent Engineering Design in Coal Sector (ministerial level). 5. Qixing Coal Preparation Plant of Shuangyashan in Heilongjiang province. It was jointly designed with former USSR, three-products cyclone was adopted, having high processing efficiency and high standard of automation. 6. Shangwan Coal Preparation Plant of Shendong Company of Shenhua Group. It is a general contract project carried out in cooperation with Sedgeman Company of USA. It only took 5 months from design to commencement of construction. Civil Explosive Factory 1. Water-gel explosive workshop of the Chemical Plant of South Anhui Coal Mining Bureau. It won the Coal Construction Association¡¯s Second Prize of Excellent Design. 2. The emulsified explosive production line of Fendou Chemical Factory in Heilongjiang Province. This factory is the designated enterprise for producing civil explosive. It won the Bronze medal of the 10th National Excellent Engineering Design. 3. The Feasibility Study Repot of the fully continuous emulsified explosive production line of the Mechanical Factory No.3305 in Jilin province won the Third Prize of Excellent Engineering Consulting Result in Coal Sector (Ministerial Level). 4. The joint venture Oric Weihai Explosive Equipment and Material Company (packaged emulsified explosive 10000t/a, detonator 25 Million pieces/a). It is the exclusive joint venture for producing civil explosive in China., Heating, Ventilation, Water supply and Drainage 1. Low-rank coal fueled Diaobingshan Thermal Power Plant of Tiefa It is one of the large-scale power plants designed by our institute. The construction period is short, only within one year after the installation reached the designed capacity, the targets of power generation and heat supply were met and exceeded respectively. The design won the Coal Association¡¯s Third Prize of Excellent Design (Ministry level) in 2000. 2. Gabatun Water Purification Plant of the second-stage water supply project of Tiefa Santaizi mine area. It is the key treatment process of the second-stage water supply project of Tiefa Santaizi mine area. The project was completed and put into operation in 2001.Since the acceptance and turnover it is running well and having good results. There arranged complete sludge treatment system in the water purification plant, which is seldom seen in the same size water plants in the country. It is worth for the same size water plants to use the process for reference and draw on experience of its operation. 3. Waste water treatment plant of Zhunger mine region. The first-stage wastewater treatment work of Zhunger project was composed of Xuejiawan Waste water treatment plant and Diandaigou wastewater treatment station. The design was completed in September 1989. It won the Construction Ministry¡¯s Bronze Medal of Excellent Design (National Level) in 2000. Other Specialties 1. Substation of Heidaigou Surface Coalmine. It successfully supplied electric power on its first operation and it is working well up to now. The design won the Coal Association¡¯s Second Prize of Excellent Design (ministerial level). 2. The control of base karst water in Stage 4 expansion project of Xiaolongtan Buzhaoba Surface Coalmine. The design won the former Northeat China Coal Corporation¡¯s First Prize of Excellent Design. and the Coal Ministry¡¯s First Prize of Excellent Design. 3. The railway private line of Santaizi Mine No.1 of Tiefa in Liaoning province. The design won the National Bronze Medal.¡£ 4. Ring expressway of Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is the first-class special auto way with four lanes and in double directions.
